in the first picture it shows how my mug first started out, i used the tripod method where you use the pinch and squeeze on the bottom of the mug. i formed a triangle and just squeezed the mug together to create tripod legs. i later created the handle and i score and slipped it on. and in the second picture it was after i created little creators using basically any tool that varied in size of the "circle" so the creators were just once size or same depth. i used a dull pencil to add texture to the creators. later the mug was fired and it came out darker than i expected.
this was a group project and it was a paper mache project. we started off chicken wire and made the base which was the pot and we wrapped it in foil and like the monkey head with the "pancake" mixture we put newspaper on top then after it dried we added paper towels after we painted it with copper paint and a gold stripe and added some marbles for design.for the stem we used chicken wire for shape and did the same process as we did for the pot. for the flower we cut out petals from cardboard and painted some yellow and some pinkish redish.
this was the paper mache monkey head we started off with a plastic bouncy ball and wrapped it in aluminum foil we also made facial features and ears out of the foil. then we mixed flour and water to make a paste it was pancake consistency. we dipped strips of newspaper and shaped the money. once it dried we did the same thing but with paper towel. than we painted the monkey with brown and silver for the eyepatch.
this was one of my sgraffito pieces and the way i did this was i started out with two slabs of clay and i used the pinch pot technique. later on i rolled out clay to make the ring. and i scored and slipped it on. after i painted the planet with green and added some brown to add some depth. in the second picture its the planet glazed before being fired.
this was our sgraffito drawing we did a story of a bird growing up. The story starts on the bottom and works its way up.
