I designed this project this way because i wanted it to give of a chill and calming vibe also i wanted to make the orca seem like it was jumping out of the water. The two biggest challenges i faced during creating this piece is trying to really make it give off a calming feeling and also grout it was hard to work with since it got messy and my spaces between each tile where pretty far apart so it made it hard to even out and clean up. The thing that was successful about my mosaic was the colors came well together after i added the sun it gave it the touch it really needed, if i could change anything it'd be to make more and smaller tiles i should've taken more time on that, also taken more time on cleaning up the grout.
I designed the project the way i did because i just like to incorporate the ocean since it just what pops up in my head when i brainstorm art pieces.and i made a little wall of coiled clay to separate the soy sauce for example and sushi from each other. Also i added a little sea turtle because why not and it’s cute.id say the most difficult thing was getting the turtle to be as nice and well put together as possible.if i could go back and change something it'd be to make more little sea creatures.
Josie morway is an artists that works with colorful paint drips, geometric linework, and latin text. She often uses birds in her enamel and oil painting. She also works with plants. She was a self-taught artist in many of her paintings she uses poses that are universal. She has recently been working on paintings about symbols that are relevant to both civilizations and wildlife.she currently works in Providence, Rhode Island. What draws me into her paintings is how realistic they look it's as though the canvas is a window and im looking into the eyes of a animal, the feathers or sometimes fur looks as though if you were to touch it you'd feel fur or feathers and if you look into the eyes the detail is amazing there's a glare like a real eye would have.but also there's not too much going on in the background but just enough to perfectly go with the animal. I find everything about her paintings perfect and a lot draws me into them. http://www.josiemorway.com
